As a boutique independent real estate company serving South Florida, we are passionate about all things local. There are so many hard-working entrepreneurs and small business owners dotting the landscape of our beloved communities, and we feel strongly about supporting their efforts however we can. Coffee is something many of us consume on a regular — if not daily — basis. Your coffee ritual is the perfect opportunity to support local roasters in Fort Lauderdale, whether you like to venture to a coffee shop or prefer to brew your own pot of coffee at home every morning. Get to know these excellent coffee roasters in Fort Lauderdale and find out how you can access their freshly roasted beans or brewed coffee on a regular basis.

Calusa Coffee Roasters

161 East Commercial Boulevard
Calusa Coffee Roasters is one of Fort Lauderdale's most beloved specialty coffee roasters. Founder Steven Hodel was previously in the travel business and specialized in planning Central and South America vacations, which exposed him to the world of coffee. The building that once housed his travel company is now home to Calusa Coffee Roasters. At Calusa, they take great care in inspecting and selecting the highest quality beans available, sourced from countries across South America, Central America, and Africa. They then roast the beans in small batches, ensuring the best possible quality. Stop by the shop to enjoy a fresh cup of coffee in their inviting environment, pick up a bag to enjoy at home, or have it shipped to your home by shopping their selection online. They roast the beans the day after you order it and ship USPS Priority so you can receive the most freshly roasted coffee delivered right to your door!

Argyle Coffee Roasters

The main mission of Argyle Coffee Roasters is to showcase what it means to drink better coffee. Argyle is a wholesale coffee roasting company primarily working business to business, and does not operate in traditional coffee shop fashion. The Argyle team starts with raw, green coffee and utilizes a fair mix of science and art to create the final roasted bean. Stop by the warehouse from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays to meet Manny and his wife, learn about their process, and of course sample some delicious coffee. Or order their exceptional coffees from the comfort of your own home and have them delivered to your doorstep! While Argyle mostly operates business to business, they often offer workshops or events open to the public.

The Grind Coffee Project

599 Southwest 2nd Avenue The Grind Coffee Project Fort Lauderdale, FL

While it is not a roaster, The Grind Coffee Project is a mecca for coffee purists and connoisseurs. Owner Yoni Martin originally operated a home espresso bar and roaster in his garage, which eventually gained traction with his friends and family, who would sample his creations in his living room and engage in conversation. He was inspired to open a coffee shop after receiving positive feedback about his coffee at a local farmers' market. Today, you can sample expertly brewed coffee at The Grind Project, which has received attention for not allowing customers to add cream or sugar to their coffee. Yoni brews coffee sourced from some of the most renowned and respected roasters in the world — so you can always expect only the best of the best from this educated and sophisticated shop. Peruse the selection of coffee available online from The Grind Coffee Project! You can even become a member of their Coffee of the Month Club to receive a bag of coffee to either pick up at the cafe or have delivered to your door every two weeks for six months.

Wells Coffee Company

737 Northeast 2nd Avenue Wells Coffee Company Fort Lauderdale, FL

Wells Coffee Company has been working tirelessly for several years to handcraft finely roasted coffees and to curate unforgettable experiences centered around coffee throughout South Florida. After operating out of a coffee shop and juice bar, The Seed, Wells Coffee Company now has a permanent home in Flagler Uptown. Stop by their vibrant and modern shop to sample their freshly roasted coffees, pick up a bag for brewing at home, and maybe even witness the roasting in action. The shop contains an enormous custom 25-pound drum roaster, which they use to roast in small batches using only the finest coffee beans — from handcrafted blends to single-origin offerings. Check out the selection of coffees available in their online shop.

The Revenant Coffee House & Eatery

Nestled along the Middle River, The Revenant Coffee House & Eatery is a hidden gem boasting scenic views and delicious coffee. Plus, The Revenant roasts their own coffees on site, ensuring the highest quality and ultimate freshness. Order your coffee of choice and even a bite to eat, like a salad, a breakfast dish, pastries, or a shareable plate, and head to the outdoor patio. Sit in a private shaded booth or at the high-top tables set amongst a gorgeous garden setting overlooking the Intracoastal. Don't miss one of their most popular drinks, The Spirit of the Revenant — a Turkish-style cold brew shaken with brown sugar, whole milk, and sweetened condensed milk.

This breathtaking estate is poised directly along the Atlantic sugar sands stretching to the tranquil Intracoastal Waterway on Manalapan's coveted stretch of barrier island coastline. The ocean-to-Intracoastal paradise was completed in 2012 after a meticulous design and construction process. It was designed by Affiniti Architects and constructed by Mark Timothy Luxury Homes, and features finishes and furnishings by Marc-Michaels Interior Design. Visitors approach 700 South Ocean via a long drive winding across the well-manicured lawn, passing a state-of-the-art basketball court, and finally arriving at a regal fountained courtyard. This tropical Georgian-inspired residence is a sight to behold, with a romantic balcony overhead, palm trees framing the double-door entry, and a four-bay garage. Once inside, the soaring foyer features a dramatic, curvaceous staircase, soft-toned checkerboard marble flooring, and a chandelier hanging overhead. Indoor/outdoor living is a consistent theme in this expansive property, exemplified by the immediate ocean views visible from the entryway framed by columns as you peer beyond the living room. In fact, the serene ocean waters can be seen from nearly every vantage point of the estate. This is something the team at Marc-Michaels was cognizant of as they created a beautiful "Coastal Traditional" feel in the space, incorporating outdoor elements in the interior. Plus, the endless natural views and overall layout of the home encourages the indoor/outdoor flow. 700 South Ocean Boulevard, Manalapan, FL 33462 700 South Ocean Boulevard, Manalapan, FL 33462 700 South Ocean Boulevard, Manalapan, FL 33462 The process of designing this home lasted approximately two years. In the initial phase, the Marc-Michaels team had several meetings with the client and builder to better understand their vision for the home. They then met together as a design team to go room by room and program each space in the home. The designers and interior detailers worked together to pull finishes, furnishings, and draw elevations, ceiling, and floors to present together to the client. Once the client approved everything, the builders moved forward with constructing the home, keeping the designers and detailers informed of the progress. The detailers and designers even had a chance to visit the property throughout the building process. Once the home was finished, the designers were able to work their magic, installing all furnishings, accessories, and art. We admire the high-style and cohesive look the Marc-Michaels team created throughout this residence. All design elements come together in picture-perfect harmony, and all features function together with effortless ease. Over the years, the Marc-Michaels team has recognized the power of staging, particularly in the high-end real estate space. "The more inviting and complete the spaces feel, the more likely a potential buyer is to envision themselves living in the house," said Tara Kaufmann, Director of Interior Detailing with Marc-Michaels. And they have created both an inviting and complete feel in this property. 700 South Ocean Boulevard, Manalapan, FL 33462 700 South Ocean Boulevard, Manalapan, FL 33462 700 South Ocean Boulevard, Manalapan, FL 33462 One of the more notable areas of the estate is the living area opening to the outdoor space. Comfortably inviting with a beamed ceiling and white-washed oak floor, the open family room has a coral-backed media space between see-through windowed display cabinets and joins to the main oceanfront lanai. The use of coral, shells, and coastal-themed prints highlights the home's tropical feel. The design elements are simultaneously neutral and bold, masculine and feminine, and classic and whimsical. Designed as an extension of the family room, the air-conditioned, glass-enclosed lanai features coral-stone walls, a beamed ceiling, a fire-pit, a summer kitchen/bar, and a cabana bath. These two separate rooms manage to feel connected and coherent, creating an effortless flow through the use of glass and consistent design themes. "The house has an exceptional indoor/outdoor living space," Kaufmann said. "The entire family room feels as if it could be outdoor space thanks to the pocketing glass doors and the glass display cases on either side of the TV." 700 South Ocean Boulevard, Manalapan, FL 33462 700 South Ocean Boulevard, Manalapan, FL 33462 700 South Ocean Boulevard, Manalapan, FL 33462 The Marc-Michaels team working on this particular project included a mix of designers and interior detailers, including Kathryn Dunagan, Rachel Ortiz, Tara Kaufmann, Jeff Strasser and Shannon Callahan. Founded in Winter Park in 1985 as a partnership between S. Marc Thee and Michael J. Abbott, Marc-Michaels is an international interior design firm with approximately 70 industry professionals. Their philosophy, "The difference is in the details," reflects their meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellent customer service. The size of their firm, the magnitude of international interior design projects, and long-standing vendor relationships makes them one of the most trusted firms in the industry. Marc-Michaels is particularly set apart from other firms, as they provide interior detailing as an optional part of a full-service design package, resulting in a seamless design/build process. This unique offering makes a difference in the design process, as displayed in their work in this Manalapan estate.
