Foodies rejoice! Boca Restaurant Month is returning to Boca Raton for its second consecutive year. This month-long celebration of local cuisine is the perfect opportunity to sample innovative creations from the city's best chefs. Lasting throughout the month of September, Boca Restaurant Month aims to promote Boca Raton's incredible array of culinary experiences, featuring a mixture of new and repeat restaurants from last year's inaugural restaurant month. Thirty-two participating restaurants will feature a three-course prix fixe dinner menu priced between $36 and $40, not including tax or gratuity. Plus, three-course prix fixe lunch menus are priced between $21 and $25, not including tax or gratuity. This is the perfect opportunity to sample some of Boca's finest dining establishments presenting their finest dishes at a reasonable price. Explore the diverse array of restaurants participating in Boca Restaurant Month this year. You'll find everything from Italian to New American, seafood eateries to steakhouses, and everything in between. D.J. Demers at Mizner Park Comedy Club

Saturday, September 1 at 8 p.m. | Doors Open at 7 p.m. Head to Mizner Park Comedy Club for an entertaining performance from D.J. Demers, a talented stand-up comedian who has appeared on America's Got Talent, Conan (twice!), and was the winner of the 2014 Homegrown Comics Competition at the prestigious Just For Laughs festival in Montreal. His debut stand-up album, [Indistinct Chatter], was released in 2017 to great acclaim. Laugh alongside this hilarious comedian on Saturday, September 1 at this renowned comedy club. Located just north of Fort Lauderdale, Butterfly World is a popular destination for kids and adults alike. Housing around 20,000 live butterflies, Butterfly World is the largest butterfly park in the world and the first park of its kind in the Western Hemisphere. This exotic park features hundreds of birds in six aviaries, a bug zoo, waterfalls, botanical gardens, and of course — thousands of butterflies from every corner of the globe. Admission to Butterfly World is $29.95 for adults and seniors, $21.95 for children ages 3–11, and free for children under 2. Everglades Holiday Park

Everglades Holiday Park is an alligator park in Fort Lauderdale attracting locals and visitors alike. Flamingo Gardens

The 60-acre botanical garden and Everglade wildlife sanctuary feature over 3,000 species of rare and exotic, tropical, subtropical, and native plants and trees. Plus, the wildlife sanctuary is home to the largest collection of Florida native wildlife, including alligators, bobcats, eagles, otters, panthers, peacock and of course — flamingos! This beautiful natural habitat is one of the oldest botanical gardens and attractions in South Florida and has become a popular attraction since its establishment in 1927.

A trolley ride is always a fun experience for little ones! The Fort Lauderdale Sun Trolley offers an incredible view of the city — whether you're visiting for the first time or you've lived in the area for years. Boarding the trolley is quite easy. Simply position yourself in a safe spot along any of the trolley's seven routes, wave to the driver much like you would hailing a cab, and get on board! And when you're ready to get off the trolley, let the driver know where and they will drop you off. Track the trolley using their special mobile app or with the desktop tracker. All routes are free except for the Beach and Las Olas link, which is $1 per ride or $3 for an all-day pass.

Florida Children's Theatre

The Florida Children's Theatre is an educational center for theatre arts, serving children and families throughout South Florida. Founded in 1952 by two mothers and officially incorporated in 1959, it is the oldest documented children's theatre in the state of Florida. Each year, FLCT produces a season of five mainstage productions and year-round classes in acting, creative drama, and other theatre-related skills. Bring education to life with a visit to the Museum of Discovery and Science, one of the largest museums of its kind in Florida. The mission of the museum is to provide experiential pathways to lifelong learning in science for children and adults through exhibits, programs, and films. The AutoNation 3D IMAX theater is a destination all its own — showing larger-than-life films viewers can only experience with special glasses and headsets. Other attractions at the museum include ecoscapes, a simulated ride to Mars, a simulated airboat ride in the Everglades, a MaxFlight airplane simulator, and a number of Floridian animal displays. The Museum of Discovery and Science is open from 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 12–5 p.m. on Sundays.

Xtreme Action Park

There is no shortage of activity at Xtreme Action Park, the largest indoor entertainment venue in Florida. The park offers 200,000 square feet of exciting attractions and event spaces, including go-kart racing, bowling, arcade games, a ropes course, a trampoline park, roller skating, escape rooms and much more! The idea for Flippo's Kids Indoor Playground came from one mom's quest to find a safe indoor play facility in South Florida for her two kids. Victoria Kim, her husband, and their two boys brainstormed, researched and built what is now Flippo's, an indoor playground with a myriad of attractions to suit every age. The museum is housed in the historic Singing Pines building, which was built in 1913 and moved to its current location in Memorial Park in 1976. It is the oldest children's museum in the state of Florida!

N: No Billboards

You may have noticed the unbeatable and uninterrupted views in Boca Raton. That is in part because of one important law: there are no billboards permitted in the city. There is, however, one billboard that was grandfathered in during the annexation. The absence of large advertisements preserves the city's natural beauty!

With such gorgeous landscape (free of billboards!) it's only right to enjoy it as much as possible — even while you wine and dine. Thankfully, there are a number of restaurants in Boca with incredible outdoor patios, offering views of the vast ocean, the sparkling waterway, and the city skyline.  

P: Personal Computer

Did you know that IBM's first personal computer was developed in Boca Raton? IBM opened a manufacturing plant in Boca in 1967, and their first personal computer was developed here in 1981. Today, one of the buildings that once housed IBM was donated to the Palm Beach County School District and was converted into Don Estridge High Tech Middle School, named after Don Estridge, whose team was responsible for developing the IBM PC. The old IBM complex still hosts the office and conference table where Bill Gates signed the historic deal that supplied IBM with the Microsoft MS-DOS operating system for its personal computer line!

Boca Raton Beaches One of Boca's most attractive qualities is its peaceful and laid-back vibe.
